Fergal Scahill is a seasoned musician with a career spanning over two decades. His affinity for music emerged at an early age of two, when he first took to the bodhran. By five, he was already captivating audiences with performances in the renowned Siamsa show in Galway, Ireland. Throughout the years, he has amassed an impressive array of achievements, securing multiple All-Ireland titles across various instruments and group competitions.Transitioning to the professional stage at the age of 18, Fergal has collaborated with numerous shows, showcasing his talent and versatility. His extensive discography includes five solo projects, two albums with his band Freewheel, and seven albums with We Banjo 3. Fergal’s “Tune a Day” project underscores his musical adeptness and collaborative spirit, having recorded over 1200 tunes and worked alongside hundreds of artists.His musical endeavour shave transcended geographical boundaries, with performances in over 30 countries across all continents. Sharing stages with esteemed musicians such as Mairtín O’Connor, Wallis Bird, and Bela Fleck among others, Fergal’s influence resonates globally.Beyond his performances, Fergal prioritizes music education, exemplified by his role as artist in residence at Scoil Acla in Co. Mayoin 2023. His dedication to teaching extends to various platforms including the Milwaukee Irish Fest summer school, KLKP in SaskatchewanCanada and the Brittany Winter School France, among others.His contributions to the music industry have garnered recognition, notably receiving the Male Musician of the Year award at the American Celtic Listener Supported Radio Awards in 2020, and the Album of the Year award for “One Day :: November Woods” in 2021.
